あの日、たしかにお腹にいた。
そんな記憶のような感覚が、
ふとした瞬間によみがえる。

自分の後ろ姿は見えなかったけれど、
きっとこんな感じだったはず。

過去の自分と、
あの時の体を、
もう一度たしかめるように描いた。

この絵は、私自身の妊娠体験をもとにした
些細な記録のひとつです。
けれど、誰もが母から生まれ、
今ここにいるという事実の延長線上にある。
その「生まれてきた」という奇跡の結果を
静かに思い出すための線でもあります。

■シリーズ「とどめる線」について

どこかへ行ってしまいそうなものを、
私は、線でとどめてきました。

抱えていた重さも、
言葉にできなかった気持ちも、
一度だけ通り過ぎていった時間の気配も。

身体は日々かたちを変えながら、
自分のもののようで、そうではないようにも思えました。
喜びとともに、静かなこわさもありました。

たしかにそこにあったものを、
忘れたくなくて、描きとめてきました。
線を引くことで、ふたたび触れられる気がしたのです。

■That Day

That day —
you were there, inside me.

It’s a memory,
or maybe a feeling that returns now and then,
quietly, without warning.

I couldn’t see my own back then,
but I imagine it must have looked like this.

This drawing was made
to confirm once more
the body I had, and the self I was.

This work is a small record drawn from my own experience of pregnancy.
Though personal, it carries a universal truth:
we all come from our mothers.
To be here now is simply the continuation of that fact —
and this drawing exists as a gentle reminder of it.

■Series concept

I have drawn lines to hold onto things that might otherwise fade —
the weight I carried, the unspoken feelings,
and the fleeting presence of a certain time.

The body changes shape every day,
sometimes feeling like my own, sometimes not.
There was both joy and a quiet fear.
I drew because I didn’t want to forget.
By drawing the line, I felt I could touch it once more.
