どうにか早く、無事にと祈るその姿は、
不思議と、いちばん楽な姿勢でもありました。

痛みの合間に訪れる静けさの中で、
体が自らを守り、
心がそれに寄り添うような時間。

この絵は、私自身の妊娠体験をもとにした
些細な記録のひとつです。
けれど、誰もが母から生まれ、
今ここにいるという事実の延長線上にある。
その「生まれてきた」という奇跡の結果を
静かに思い出すための線でもあります。

■シリーズ「とどめる線」について

どこかへ行ってしまいそうなものを、
私は、線でとどめてきました。

抱えていた重さも、
言葉にできなかった気持ちも、
一度だけ通り過ぎていった時間の気配も。

身体は日々かたちを変えながら、
自分のもののようで、そうではないようにも思えました。
喜びとともに、静かなこわさもありました。

たしかにそこにあったものを、
忘れたくなくて、描きとめてきました。
線を引くことで、ふたたび触れられる気がしたのです。

■Until Then

“Until the moment of birth — just endure until then.”
The figure prays for it to come soon, and safely.
And yet, strangely, that posture of prayer
was also the most comfortable of all.

In the stillness between waves of pain,
the body seemed to protect itself,
and the heart quietly followed.

This work is a small record drawn from my own experience of pregnancy.
Though personal, it carries a universal truth:
we all come from our mothers.
To be here now is simply the continuation of that fact —
and this drawing exists as a gentle reminder of it.

■Series concept

I have drawn lines to hold onto things that might otherwise fade —
the weight I carried, the unspoken feelings,
and the fleeting presence of a certain time.

The body changes shape every day,
sometimes feeling like my own, sometimes not.
There was both joy and a quiet fear.
I drew because I didn’t want to forget.
By drawing the line, I felt I could touch it once more.
